Perspective

Post by Oldie » Thu Jul 09, 2009 5:21 pm

Sometimes, life has a habit of putting things in perspective. I found out today the latest UK soldier to be killed in Afghanistan was the son of one of my neighbours. And we are stressing about over who is cheating in a game....

And I'm not going in to the right or wrongs of the conflict or the fact that soldiers sign up for it.

Regardless of the duties or job this person was carrying, it is always a tragedy for the ones left behind. No doubt about that.

The fact that this person signed up for the above average risk of death is in my opinion certainly relevant but it won't help the ones left behind.

So all sympathies to his family and friends.
